Framlingham (usually abbreviated to just \u201cFram\u201d) is a small town dating back at least to the 11th century with an attractive medieval centre. Enjoy a stroll through the streets and alleys to see some lovely old buildings.<\/p>\n
There is a market in the square on Tuesdays and Saturdays with a range of stalls of fresh produce and artisan products.<\/p>\n
In the market square and adjacent streets are several cafes, bars and restaurants along with amenity, food and gift shopping.<\/p>\n
The castle (English Heritage) and grounds are set on the hillside overlooking the surrounding countryside and the town. It is just 5 minutes\u2019 walk from your apartment.<\/p>\n

Snape Maltings is the home of the world renowned concert hall and of the Britten Pears Music Trust. The trust also owns Red House in Aldeburgh the home of Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears which is open to visitors and gives a great insight to the life and music of Britten. The concert hall has regular performances across all musical genre including the Snape Proms season.<\/p>\n
Several of the large estates have summer evening events of performance art.<\/p>\n
There are cinemas at Woodbridge, Aldeburgh, Leiston, Ipswich and Southwold which also has a summer theatre.<\/p>\n

From Dunwich to Felixstowe is basically one long beach, mostly shingle and sand with the gentile seaside town of Aldeburgh the closest beach to Simpers Drift.<\/p>\n
